Sessions
Named workspaces that each hold their own tabs and split panes, restored exactly as you left them.
A session is a named workspace: Work, Personal, Production, Side project. Selecting a session swaps every tab and pane in the window for that session’s own.
Use sessions instead of a pile of windows. You keep one window, and the context you need is one click away.
Manage sessions
Sessions live at the top of the sidebar. You can create, rename, reorder and delete them there.
| Action | Keys |
|---|---|
| New session | ⌘⇧N |
| Next / previous session | ⌘⌃] / ⌘⌃[ |
| Go to session 1–9 | ⌘⌃1 … ⌘⌃9 |
| Show or hide the sidebar | ⌘0 |
Did you know? The status bar always shows the current session’s name, so you can tell where you are even with the sidebar hidden.
Restore
Every window comes back on relaunch, in its place, with its sessions, tabs, splits and each pane’s directory. See Restore and windows.
